The management of the University of Lagos »
has reportedly evicted student union leaders
from their hostels.
Yesterday, May 3, a notice was made public
showing the eviction announcement.
While speaking to TheNation , Deputy Registrar
(Information) Mr Toyin Adebule said, ” there are
special rooms allocated to Students Union
representatives. But since the union has been
suspended, they have to vacate those rooms. ”
A first year student of Mass communication,
while stating what returning students » had to go
through, said, ” We have been submitting our
indemnity forms and exam dockets. Though some
people still haven’t signed but they have no choice
because everything is tied to the form now
including entry into hostel and entry into exam hall,
so we just have to do as we are told. ”
The students are alleging that the university is
looking for evidence to expel the union leaders.
