FUTO Council To Generate Over 250 Million Naira From Protest Surcharge Fee – And then….

On the 24th of April, 2017, the Senate of the Federal University of Technology Owerri published the ritual requirements every student must provide in other to appease FUTO gods for For Partaking in a violent protest against the incessant increments in fees payable by students. (Pardon my tone and phrases).

The list contained two ritual items but we are discussing one of the ritual items today, the 12,500 Surcharge Fee.

On that faithful day, ngstudents.com correspondent was live taking video coverage of the protest until it turned violent, then we withdrew. We have published two videos already.

With the reports from ngstudents.com team present that day, school buildings lost some of its Windows to the Riot. Some computers were also carted away with by hoodlums who took the protest to their advantage.

However, the six organizers of the protest paid the ultimate price when the school Council announced their expulsion recently. Rumors has it that the identities of the organizers was leaked to the Senate by some officials of the SUG. However this claim has not been confirmed by ngstudents.com.

Using the admission quota of 4,000 students allocated to FUTO by JAMB and NUC, it is calculated that the total amount to be generated by the Senate Council from Surcharge payments is around 250, 000,000 Naira at minimum (ie 12,500 * 20, 000 students), at 4,000 students per session, excluding Direct Entry and VC list candidates.

The rates for the damages caused on school buildings was approximated by the ngstudents team present to be around 50,000,000 Naira. However this Statistics is still open to critics.

You can do the remaining Mathematics and counterbalance yourself, the ngstudents community hopes whatever remains is channeled to the right pocket. 12,500 in this administration sounds like a workman salary, for God’s sake, it’s not funny.

The question now on The mind of every FUTOite is ” what is the benefit of our protest and Aluta Struggle?”.

Thanks, this Publication is open to Applaud, critics, corrections and contributions.

Aluta Continua!!, Victoria Acerta!!!
