The 2017 jamb exam is getting close to the final stage
and results are rolling out everyday.
We have seen series of happy and sad reactions.
The information below is meant for only candidates that
score between 200 and 240 in 2017 jamb exam.
Firstly, I congratulates you for succeeding in the just
concluded exam and you are among the lucky candidates
that scored above 199.
As it stand now 200 is enough to apply for any university in
Nigeria Today.
However there are some certain rules you need to know
and observed to safeguard your score and to have a safe
passage to Admission.
Watch out for competitive courses and University:
regardless of the university you choose, some courses are
extremely competitive and you need to score above 200 to
be considered and as a matter of fact, out of all the
available applicants, only those that have the highest score
in jamb will be selected.
Some of this courses include.
Medicine
Law
Accounting
Economics
Pharmacy
Nursing
Mass communication
Some schools will demand for 240 and above before you
can be considered for Admission.
So, in some cases it’s better to change your course if your
jamb score is not string enough for the course you applied
for in any competitive university.
Don’t put your egg in one basket: you might have score 200
or above and you solely rely on university admission while
you throw away the opportunity offered in polytechnic.
Well it’s much more safer and wise to pursue your
university and polytechnic admission and if eventually you
get both, you can pick the university over the polytechnic.
Never assume your 200 or 230 will guarantee your
admission in any Nigerian university.
Always remember there are many candidates with good
scores and admission will be very competitive.
There are many good polytechnic in Nigeria and it’s much
better to accept the admission rather than sitting at home.
Know your course cut off marks: various schools have
different cut off marks for their courses, some of which is
higher in some courses and lower for some other
departments. First confirm what your department is
accepting and see if this suits you. If not, try change of
course . If you are not sure of gaining admission into a
particular course (due to it’s competitiveness, kindly go for
another course).
Lastly, if you seems lost and admission is not forthcoming,
you can always count on Ijmb.
