While we wait for JAMB to officially announce the 2017 cut-off
mark, many candidates are hoping that what ever it is going to
be at the end of the day should be one that favours them.
A candidate that participated in the 2017 JAMB UTME has
suggested that JAMB should decide the 2017 official cut off
mark as follows;
Universities – 250
Polytechnics – 200

According to him, the reason is that often times many
candidates just put in a little effort to reach the 180 mark and
then count on “long leg” or “connection” to help them gain
admission while candidates that studied quite hard to score
200 and above end up not getting admission even when they
have merited such.
Well, that’s his opinion. But what this candidate did not put
into consideration is that there are candidates that got 200
and above through malpractice and there are others that got
180 by merit.
He also did not consider other factors that influence who gets
admission and who doesn’t regardless of the JAMB score.
So while we cannot deny the role “connection” or “long leg”
plays in admission process in Nigeria, this is certainly not the
way to get around it. What do you think?

  1. Lol…His Idea is not senseless..he has a good reason to back up his opinion, but I don’t agree with him. There were people who read hard but couldn’t finish due to system problem or interrupted power supply, which landed most of them at 180 and below. There were also people who made 250 and above illegally. So he shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. Thank you.

  2. It is well, May God have mercy upon us, I’m dumbfounded by this kinda suggestion or should I call it idea, Anyway I don’t think it’s possible dat admission should be given to people who scored 250 and above alone, how about people that scored above 200 but not up-to 250, should they go to the poly instead of university?

Anyway humans proposes and I’d opposes, I believe God will not forsake his children in times like this.

  3. walia na God go punish these person wey bring these opinion see is mouth like 250 saburi because he had scored more than 250 he his now making foolish opinion that will break his head I oppose these opinion
