A group of citizens from the South-West part of Nigeria who resides in Canada, under the name ‘Yoruba One Voice’ has fixed a date to match out en masse for a freedom walk.

The Yoruba language speaking group which is seeking to establish the Oduduwa Republic on Monday, September 7 announced to its members in Canada via a tweet on its microblogging site account, the location to meet for its October 1st Rally.

The tweet reads; “To all the Yoruba in Canada, this is the location to meet for October 1st Rally @ Dundas Square, Toronto Time 11am.”

Recall that a former governor of old Kaduna State and Elder statesman, Balarabe Musa, in January this year accused South-west governors of using Amotekun as a ploy to create the Oduduwa Republic.

The former Kaduna State governor in an interview with The Sun alleged that the security outfit was a ploy to secure Yoruba land and a prelude to the declaration of Oduduwa Republic. He, therefore, urged President Muhammadu Buhari’s led government to stop the move, Naija News reports.
