President Muhammadu Buhari has promised to frustrate any repetition of the #EndSARS protests that rocked the country in October.
Speaking at the meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) on Tuesday, the president said “relevant stakeholders”, including the youth, will be carried along to forestall a repeat.
2. No Helicopter Was Shot Down In Borno — Nigeria Air Force
No helicopter was shot down by Boko Haram terrorists in Borno state on Tuesday, the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) has said.
Naija News recalls that news had emerged in the afternoon, suggesting that a helicopter was shot down by Boko Haram members in Borno state today, killing five persons.
Reacting to the report in a terse statement on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, the Director of Public Relations and Information Headquarters of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), said ”No helicopter was shot down. No helicopter crashed in Borno State today. A UN helicopter indeed undertook a mission to Banki & has since returned to Maiduguri.”
3. Ebonyi Governor Umahi Formally Joins APC From PDP
Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, southeast Nigeria, has formally defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Naija News reports that the Ebonyi Governor announced his defection from PDP to APC while addressing journalists in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital on Tuesday, November 17.

The federal government has given Lufthansa, Air France/KLM approval to resume the operation of international flights into Nigeria.

Twelve operatives of the Nigerian Police said to have been travelling from Borno State to Zamfara State have been kidnapped by gunmen.
It was gathered that all the kidnapped police officers are on the rank of Assistant-Superintendent of Police (ASP).

Abubakar Shekau, leader of the Boko Haram Terrorist group has released a new video a few days after the military authorities in Nigeria declared him wanted.
According to Shekau in the new video, he dared the military, declaring that he and his fighters can’t be arrested by the military and even if by chance they get arrested, it won’t end the war.
7. #EndSARS: Peter Eromosele Granted Bail By Court
#EndSARS protester, Peter Eromosele has been granted bail on Tuesday by the Magistrate Court sitting in Yaba, Lagos State.
The court granted Eromosele bail to the tune of one million naira and two sureties who must be family members.
The court also rejected the request by the Nigerian Police to detain him for another 30 days to conclude investigation on allegations against him.
8. Traditional Ruler, Son Shot Dead In Kaduna
Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has commiserated with the family of a traditional ruler who was murdered alongside his son by heavily armed men on Tuesday morning, November 17.
It was reported that the yet to be identified gunmen this morning stormed Ma-zakki, a community in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of the state and gunned down the district head of Gidan Zaki, Haruna Kuye and his son.

Hundreds of commercial Okada riders alongside hoodlums on Tuesday attacked officials of the Lagos State Task Force.
The violence happened at the Second Rainbow area on Apapa-Oshodi expressway in Lagos State.
10. Naira to Dollar Exchange Rate Hits N475
A surge in the demand for the United States Dollar across key foreign exchange markets has plunged the Nigerian Naira value to a 12-week low at the black market.
The Naira depreciated by N5 against the United States Dollar to N475 on Tuesday, down from the N470 it was exchanged before.
