JAMB Debunks Rumour On Addition Of 40 Marks To Candidates’ Score

JAMB Debunks Rumour On
Addition Of 40 Marks To
Candidates’ Score
JAMB has debunked the rumour that the Senate has passed a
bill urging the board to add extra 40 marks to candidates.
According to him, there is no bill anywhere not even a motion
has been tabled before the two chambers of the National
Assembly on the board’s 2017 UTME performance.
Ngstudents.com

….
“We urge candidates to disregard all funny connotations online
on their results as the board will not contemplate doing all that
is being speculated as that will negate the ethics of an
examination body as critical as JAMB.”
It added that the board’s major concern had always been to
ensure that cheating during and after examination were
reduced to zero level, and this, he said, the board had
substantially achieved.

JAMB May Still Cancel Results Of Candidates Involved In Exam Malpractice

JAMB May Still Cancel Results
Of Candidates Involved In
Exam Malpractice
Ngstudents.com
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has
disclosed that through scrutiny of what transpired during the
2017 JAMB is exam is still going based on the footage of the
CCTV cameras.
This was disclosed by JAMB’s Head of Media Fabian
Benjamin.
According to him, once any candidate is discovered to involve
in any irregularity, even if the candidate has received his or her
result, the candidate will still be sanctioned for cheating during
the exam.
“Those who know they were involved in any acts inimical to
our examination ethics should not celebrate as their inglorious
days of punishment will soon surface.” He threatened.
JAMB had earlier reported more than 10,000 candidates
caught for examination malpractices in the ongoing UTME in
Anambra State and have been handed over to appropriate

KWASU Renamed, now called Olusola Saraki University

As a way to immortalise and honour the memory of the
State’s first governor, the Kwara State University has been
named after the late Senator Olusola Saraki.
The Kwara State government has renamed its university
after the late strongman of Kwara politics, Olusola Saraki.
Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, made the announcement in
Ilorin at the inauguration of the Sola Saraki Educational
Foundation on Friday, May 19, 2017.
Ahmed, who declared that the Kwara State University,
KWASU, would henceforth be called Sola Saraki University,
explained that renaming the university was a better way of
immortalising the late politician.
He said the late Waziri of Ilorin, had immense love for
education as evident in his contributions to the building of
several primary and secondary schools across the state.
The governor called on individuals and corporate bodies to
invest in education as a way of securing the future of the
children and donated N15 million for the takeoff of the
foundation.
Sola Saraki was the father of Bukola Saraki, Nigeria’s
Senate president. He was born on May 13, 1933 in Ilorin,
Kwara State, he was until his death regarded as the
“strongman of Kwara politics”. He first ran in the 1964
parliamentary election for Ilorin as an independent
candidate but lost.
After the election, he returned to medical practice in Lagos,
only returning to party-politics in 1978/79.
In 1977, Mr. Saraki was elected as a member of the
Constituent Assembly that produced the 1979 constitution.
